Overview

This is an interview position. PM / Domestic Shift: Sunday 15:00-23:30; Monday - Wednesday 21:00-05:30; Thu-Fri OFF; Saturday 15:00-23:30. This role coordinates all operations relating to aircraft loading/unloading activities and provides leadership to cargo handlers and operational and personnel support. May perform duties of a courier, cargo handler and/or dispatcher. The role models best practices in communication, conflict resolution and leadership for hourly employees.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate all operations related to aircraft loading and unloading activities.
• Provide leadership to cargo handlers and operational and personnel support staff.
• Perform job duties and responsibilities required of a courier, cargo handler and/or dispatcher as needed.
• Model professional conduct and mentor hourly employees using best practices in communication, conflict resolution and leadership.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• High school diploma or educational equivalent.
• Six (6) months experience / training in jet aircraft ground support equipment / aircraft operations.
• Proficiency in basic level MS Word and Excel.
• Knowledge of FAMIS, COSMOS, e-mail and FedEx intranet systems preferred.
• Ability to prepare and process Canadian customs paperwork.
• Ability to complete all required basic training and maintain accreditation through yearly recurrency training (e.g., GSE administrator and operator permit, DG Specialist, W&B certification).
• Excel / LEAP candidates preferred.
• Good understanding of FedEx products, services, and general operations; loading/unloading procedures preferred.
• Physical ability to lift 70 lbs and maneuver packages up to 150 lbs with appropriate equipment.
• Valid driver's license with a good driving record.
• Excellent human relations, customer relations, and communication skills.
• Good analytical, problem-solving, prioritization and organizational skills.
• Must be able to pass RCMP assessment.

Qualifications Requises (French)

• Diplôme d'études secondaires ou équivalent.
• Six (6) mois d'expérience / formation dans le fonctionnement des avions / de l'équipement au sol.
• Maîtrise élémentaire de MS Word et Excel.
• Préférence pour les systèmes FedEx (FAMIS, COSMOS,...).
• Savoir préparer les documents de douane canadiens.
• Formation de base réussie et accréditation à travers formations annuelles (administrateur-opérateur d’équipement au sol, matières dangereuses, SST, etc.).
• EXCEL / LEAP souhaitable.
• Bonne compréhension des services FedEx et des procédures de chargement/déchargement.
• Capacité à lever des colis de 70 lb et à manœuvrer ceux jusqu’à 150 lb avec un appareil.
• Permis de conduire valide et bon dossier de conduite.
• Excellentes relations humaines, service à la clientèle et communication.
• Bonnes capacités d’analyse, résolution de problèmes et organisation.
• Réussir l’évaluation GRC.
