Job summary

A leading entertainment company in Peterborough, Ontario is seeking a Security Officer responsible for maintaining safety and protecting team members, guests, and property. The successful candidate will monitor for unsafe conditions, enforce access restrictions, and communicate effectively with team members. Candidates must have a high school diploma, at least one year of experience, and relevant certifications. A commitment to creating a safe work environment is vital.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 1 year of work experience in a security role.
  • Valid Smart Serve Certification required.
  • Valid Standard First Aid CPR/AED Level C Certification required.
  • Must be willing to recertify Use of Force Certification.
  • Ability to successfully obtain a Gaming License.

Overview

Under the direct supervision of the Regional Manager, Security, this position is responsible for the safety and protection of team members, guests, the facility (both internal and external) and the company's assets while contributing to a safe and welcoming work environment for all team members. Ensures adherence to the Company's policies and procedures, motivates and leads by example and supports Great Canadian's learning environment while establishing a safe and welcoming work environment for all team members.

Key Accountabilities
  • Monitors, documents and prepares statements and/or reports on violations, unsafe conditions, potential hazards, suspicious persons or activities
  • Enforces restricted access by unauthorized persons
  • Observes transactions, pulls, fills, transfers, etc.
  • Escorts cash/cash equivalents
  • Tags and reports found property; transfers items to Lost and Found
  • Conducts regular patrols of the facility interior and exterior as directed
  • Escorts guests and team members as directed
  • Performs identification checks
  • Refers disputes to the Supervisor, Security
  • Performs crowd control as directed
  • Communicates effectively with all appropriate operational departments
  • Builds strong working relationships with guests and team members
  • Ensures compliance with licensing laws, health and safety and other statutory regulations
  • Performs other duties as assigned or directed
Education And Qualifications
  • High School Diploma
