Reporting to the Project Director, you will perform the following tasks and responsibilities:
- Collaborate with various team members, supervise and train project assistants.
- Read contracts and annotate them to ensure they reflect our submissions.
- Read the relevant documents (structural plans, specifications, geotechnical studies, and any other relevant documents) used to establish the price and estimate in order to take ownership of the project and understand its scope, technical and financial challenges, and potential issues.
- Jointly establish a work schedule with the superintendent and revise it as needed throughout the project to adjust it with the client and management.
- Develop a list of materials, equipment, and labor required for the project with the superintendent.
- Coordinate the delivery/manufacturing of materials with the superintendents and ensure that the site superintendents and foremen receive the materials on time.
- Discuss progress/issues/solutions with the superintendents.
- Validate daily reports and enter accounting codes (equipment and labor) related to projects.
- Approve project-related invoices and monitor project costs; conduct monthly profitability studies.
- Document, sort, and organize site activities and correspondence with the client and professionals on a daily basis.
- Manage costs, risks, human, financial, and material resources. Ensure compliance with all health and safety measures and report any issues.
- Assume responsibility for work results and the performance of other collaborators on the project.
- Ensure compliance with applicable standards and laws (permits, subcontractors, provisional acceptance, and contract termination).
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- BAC or DEC in Civil Engineering.
- At least 3-5 years’ experience in a similar position.
- Knowledge of deep foundations is a definite asset.
- Holder of the ASP construction certification.
- Knowledge of AutoCAD software (an asset).
- Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite.
- Be a team player, possess excellent communication skills, and actively participate, through attitude and behavior, in developing and maintaining a respectful, harmonious, and stimulating work environment for all. Meet rigorous, structured, analytical skills, and be a solution-oriented individual with attention to detail and integrity.
- Perform tasks and responsibilities efficiently and with a commitment to high performance. Travel to construction sites is required.
- Fluency in spoken and written French and English is required.
