Overview

Part-time Program Leader for School Aged Programs — Summerland, BC. BGC Okanagan is hiring to support after-school programs and create safe, engaging spaces where children can play, create, and connect after school.

Key Duties And Responsibilities
  • Plans and implements activities and special events for a program.
  • Oversees day-to-day program operations, ensures facilities and equipment are in place, adheres to program guidelines and licensing requirements, and maintains program standards.
  • Makes recommendations to the supervisor regarding program development, policy and procedure formulation, and program evaluation.
  • Promotes public awareness and support for the program by producing promotional materials and attending community events.
  • Coordinates with community service providers and professionals to facilitate referrals and represent the organization at external events.
  • Maintains related records and statistics and produces reports as required.
  • Performs other related duties as required.
Qualifications
  • A diploma, certificate, or relevant experience working with children in recreation, education, or other social services.
  • Current First Aid certificate and 20 Hours Responsible Adult training or willingness to obtain.
  • Class 4 driver’s license or willingness to obtain it immediately.
  • Successful completion of Agency screening including a Criminal Record Check.
  • Must be at least 19 years of age as per Provincial Licensing Regulations.

This position is open to all applicants and requires Union membership.

Hours: 25 hours per week during the school year, Monday to Friday 1:00 pm – 6:00 pm.

Rate of Pay: $19.82 per hour.
