As a member of the Production Engineering team, the Engineer, Production will provide technical oversight and support throughout the design, construction, testing / commissioning, and delivery of multiple classes of Royal Canadian Navy and Canadian Coast Guard vessels.
Qualifications
- Engineering degree
- Minimum of 7+ years shipbuilding / ship design experience or related heavy manufacturing experience
- Applied experience with exposure to hull/machinery/accommodation piping, electrical outfitting, and / or steel outfitting.
- Strong understanding of Shipbuilding production, planning, material requirements, facility / resource capacity
- Ability to navigate shipbuilding production drawings, PBOM, and 3D model required
- Must have or eligible to obtain a Professional Engineering license in Nova Scotia and able to develop/approve engineered lift plans, production jig design, and supporting calculations
- Proficiency with AutoCad (2D/3D), MS Office suite of software and Adobe Pro
- Proficiency to execute practical lifting and product strength calculations using first principles, structural codes, and numerical methods
- Demonstrated experience in heavy lift engineering in industrial or manufacturing environments

- Author processes & procedures documenting how recurring engineering support and deliverables in their assigned discipline are created.

- Identify opportunities for Continuous Improvement within their engineering discipline.
