Job description
Overview

Global Risk Review (GRR) provides independent, objective, reliable, valued and timely assurance to the Board, the Committees, the Citigroup Chief Risk Officer (Citigroup CRO), Citibank CRO, senior management and regulators over the effectiveness of credit risk management and collateral risk management, and the ability of the Business and independent Risk Management to identify, monitor and mitigate current and emerging risks across Citigroup and Citibank.

GRR Infrastructure and Strategic Projects (ISP) oversees the development of risk applications within GRR, as well as the identification and implementation of GRR’s strategic projects. These projects aim to achieve greater efficiency, reduce manual efforts and improve risk management.

This GRR ISP Product Owner role is critical in driving transformational change within GRR by optimizing complex business processes and data flows. The specialist will act as a key liaison, translating intricate business needs into actionable solutions and leading initiatives that enhance efficiency, accuracy, and insight generation.

Responsibilities
  • Strategic Process & Data Optimization: Lead the analysis of current state GRR operational processes and data architectures to define optimized future states. Drive the implementation of innovative business and technical solutions, focusing on identifying inefficiencies, automating processes, and streamlining data to achieve significant improvements in risk performance monitoring and review.
  • Requirements, Solution Definition & Documentation: Understand complex GRR business requirements, articulating them through detailed user stories, Business Requirement Documents (BRDs), and functional specifications. Perform comprehensive gap analyses to identify systemic inefficiencies and define innovative, workable solutions, often involving technology enhancements or new data platforms. Additionally, develop compelling investment theses for further process reengineering and data solution projects, emphasizing ROI from process improvements, and prepare comprehensive C-level ready pitch decks.
  • Liaison & Stakeholder Management: Act as a critical liaison between GRR business stakeholders, Technology, and Data Science/Analytics teams. Lead and facilitate requirements elicitation sessions and workshops, employing techniques such as process mapping and data flow diagramming. Effectively influence and collaborate with diverse teams across the organization.
  • Agile Development & Delivery: Act as a key contributor within agile scrum teams, acting as or supporting Product Owner in defining and prioritizing features related to process automation, data integration, and analytical tool development for GRR. Develop sophisticated process models, leveraging AI automation and data integration opportunities.
  • Quality Assurance & Testing Leadership: Lead the development and execution of comprehensive User Acceptance Testing (UAT) strategies and plans for new and enhanced applications and data solutions, ensuring alignment with business requirements. This includes coordinating UAT cycles and associated demos, collecting issues and enhancement feedback from testers/users, managing defect resolution, driving sign-offs from business stakeholders, and ensuring seamless transition to production environments across multiple applications.
  • Expert Consultation & Communication: Serve as a high-level expert on GRR process optimization, data strategy, and solution implementation for all organizational levels, including executive and senior management. Possess a strong analytical and systematic way of thinking, capable of translating complex challenges into clear, actionable requirements and explaining sophisticated technical and data concepts to non-technical risk professionals.
  • Strategic Alignment: Define scope and objectives for complex GRR process reengineering and data initiatives, ensuring alignment with Citigroup's enterprise-wide risk management strategies and data governance frameworks. Drive and help execute GRR's strategic vision by recommending optimal emerging technologies, data platforms, and analytical tools.
Qualifications
