Job description

The mission of the Application Services and Continuous Delivery Department is to provide the platforms, services and tools required for squads to develop, deliver and host software components that meet the needs of members and clients. It also oversees automation and delivery cycles in accordance with security requirements. As the IT owner of the Build Solutions stream, this unit oversees nine key processes at the heart of the IT value chain requiring rigorous governance, alignment with industry benchmarks (ITIL, COBIT, IT4IT) and continuous improvement. The team is mandated to implement a recognized methodological framework, strengthen process governance, develop a rollout plan aligned with strategic priorities, analyze the current situation in IT divisions, assess gaps between the current situation and the target, and implement processes. The product owner’s goal is to maximize the value of the execution team’s processes and work. This person is responsible for the product vision and assembles a range of products and services using a consistent process to ensure the overall experience is positive for members and clients. They work closely with the sponsor and business analyst to ensure that the solution generates value, meets user needs and delivers the expected benefits. They also manage relationships with the product’s various contributors. More specifically, you will be required to :

  • Lead and define the product backlog for large-scale development projects, initiatives and activities in your specialty area and your squads that have a significant impact on the entire organization.
  • Determine priorities to maximize the value of deliverables and ensure alignment with member/client needs, business objectives and the organization’s architecture.
  • Determine stories to be delivered based on priorities and define acceptance criteria and use cases.
  • Review and approve deliverables to ensure quality control, assist with documentation and obtain ongoing feedback.
  • Be the sole point of entry for product-related requests and respond quickly to questions raised by the team.
  • Work closely with partner teams on the consistency, governance and continuous improvement of IT practices.
  • Lead projects and initiatives that significantly impact the organization.
  • Advise clients and partners to help them position, plan, develop, execute and monitor projects under your responsibility.
  • Help develop and update policies, standards, models, IT solutions and programs to support projects.
  • Identify and analyze major issues. Diagnose issues and make recommendations to decision-making bodies.
  • Represent your unit before internal decision-making bodies. Represent Desjardins when making agreements with external partners and organizations.
