Work Location: Fortescue’s Hedland Operations are located on the traditional lands of the Kariyarra people.

Roster: 8D/6R/8D/6R/7N/7R – FIFO ex Perth or Residential

We are currently seeking a motivated Process Control Technician/Electrician to join our Port Hedland Operations. You will be supported by a team of experts and be responsible for support, design, integration and improvements within the control system.

Key Responsibilities

• Liaise with relevant departments to provide technical solutions for operational support and projects
• Support the ongoing maintenance of control systems assets including PLCs, servers, network and communication equipment, and field devices
• Commissioning of drives, instrumentation, and miscellaneous field devices
• Design and develop new control systems including testing, maintaining and modifying existing systems to ensure optimal utilisation
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards for process control systems

Qualifications and Experience

• Electrical Trade Certificate and Current WA Electrical A Class License
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in electrical maintenance within the mining or heavy industry.
• Experience with ABB and Siemens Variable Speed Drives (VSD) is highly desirable.
• Working knowledge of engineering design and operation principles applicable to the fields of electrical and instrumentation engineering for process plants including stackers, reclaimers, shiploaders and car dumpers
• Experience with GE PLC or Schneider PLC (Desirable)
