Job description

The Neuroscience and Behavior program at the University of Notre Dame is seeking qualified and enthusiastic postdoctoral candidates to join our team of educational innovators. The directed goals of the position are pedagogical professional development broadly. We anticipate that the duties of this position will fall along an approximate 60:40 division, with 60 percent of effort in teaching, and the other 40 percent invested in some combination of research (e.g., scientific, science education, or applied community-based research) and/or professional development for future positions.

  • Contribute to instruction of existing core neuroscience and behavior courses. Specific needs include a core introductory neuroscience lecture course, a required neuroscience and behavior laboratory course and the neuroscience and behavior research honors program
  • Develop new courses based on the candidate's area of expertise in alignment with the needs of the undergraduate major.
  • Support ongoing development of existing Course-based Undergraduate Research Experiences with contributions related to your instructional activities and professional goals (e.g. course/program evaluation, science of learning, CUREs work, etc)
  • Engage in research based on candidates' area of interest. Opportunities include collaborative CUREs-based research development, science education, scholarship of teaching and learning, applied community-based research
  • Mentor undergraduates in the Neuroscience and Behavior honors program
  • Remain up to date with all safety training requirements
  • For one of the positions, we are looking for a postdoc who for their 40 percent effort will advise and mentor students in the Glynn Family Honors Program; this post-doc will also help lead other educational and social activities.

This is a one year position, renewable annually for up to three years, and will follow the NIH postdoctoral pay scale.
