Job Summary:
The Cook Chill Food Production Center is located on the grounds of the Maplehurst Correctional Facility; however, Cook Chill operates as an independent production facility and is separate from Maplehurst Corrections. There are no inmates on site at any time. Civeo Premium associates do not have any interaction with, nor access to, inmates.
We are seeking a Porter responsible for the accurate and efficient traying of meals on the assembly line while ensuring strict adherence to food safety, portion control, and hygiene standards. In this role, you will oversee proper meal assembly, assign tasks to associates, and ensure correct utensil use, portioning, and cleanliness throughout the process. You will also complete final meal counts for regular and special diets, including bulk meals, and ensure all required documentation is accurate and complete prior to shipment.
Key Responsibilities

Follow all established procedures and policies for the meal assembly area
Properly use and maintain all required PPE and company-issued equipment
Comply with Workplace Health & Safety Program requirements, OHS Act, and WHMIS regulations
Report accidents, incidents, and unsafe conditions promptly and support investigations
Adhere to all facility policies, including reporting, utensil control, and proper waste disposal
Verify correct portioning and cleanliness of meal trays before sealing
Assemble meals according to Diet Assembly Sequence Worksheets and Meal Order Summary Sheets
Assemble diets in the correct order to prevent allergen cross-contamination, including required cleaning and sanitizing
Use appropriate tools to ensure accurate portioning
Ensure workstations are properly set up and ergonomically adjusted
Perform scooping, product handling, and line cleanliness tasks per guidelines
Complete final meal counts and accurately record meals for shipment
Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members to support safe and efficient operations
Perform duties according to scheduled hours, operational priorities, and production needs
Adhere to assigned work schedules and break periods
Perform additional duties as assigned
Qualifications
Previous experience in a commercial kitchen, food production, institutional food service, or manufacturing environment, including safe operation of kitchen/food production equipment.
Experience working in regulated environments with strong compliance to HACCP, GMP, WHMIS, and health & safety requirements is an asset.
Physically capable of lifting at least 25 lbs, performing repeated bending, twisting, reaching, and standing for the full shift; able to work in cold environments; able to follow two‑person lift procedures.
Ability to work independently, follow detailed procedures, and take initiative.
Flexible, adaptable, and comfortable in a fast‑paced environment with shifting priorities.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Effective written and verbal communication skills in English.
Positive attitude with a strong customer‑service mindset.
Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
Solid knowledge of HACCP procedures, food safety standards, and OSHA‑related responsibilities.
Must wear appropriate job‑specific PPE at all times.
Must obtain Advanced Food Safety Training (FST) within 90 days of employment.
Must successfully complete drug and alcohol screening, vulnerable sector check, criminal record check, and any other required security clearances.
