Job summary

A home services provider in Northeastern Ontario is seeking a Plumbing Apprentice to assist in the installation, maintenance, and repair of pipes and fixtures. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of plumbing codes, be able to read blueprints, and possess a valid driver's license. This full-time role involves field work in residential settings, with a pay range of $19.00-$25.00 per hour.

Qualifications

  • Strong knowledge of plumbing codes and compliance.
  • Experience in a residential setting is an asset.
  • Valid driver’s license is required.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in installation and maintenance of piping systems.
  • Ensure all work meets code and environmental requirements.
  • Perform pressure tests on piping systems.

Job description
Overview

Reporting to the Field Supervisor, the Plumbing Apprentice assists in installing, repairing, and maintaining pipes, fixtures and other piping used for water, gas or hot liquids in residential/commercial settings.

Responsibilities & Duties
  • Assists in installation, assembling, maintenance, fabrication, and repairing of process piping systems
  • Knowledge of the standard methods, materials and equipment used in piping
  • Must be able to understand blueprints and help install pipes correctly, understand the dangerous nature of the chemicals that the pipes they create are transporting, and help repair and test any damaged or malfunctioning pipes and perform pressure tests from time to time.
  • Help ensure all installations, repairs and maintenance meet the requirements of the appropriate codes
  • Help ensure all installations, repairs and maintenance meet environmental protection requirements
  • Help perform scheduled maintenance service on piping systems and fixtures
  • Apply all codes to installations, repairs and maintenance
  • Performs other related duties as required.
Requires Knowledge & Awareness of Following Tasks
  • Strong knowledge of plumbing industry and code compliance
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints
  • Knowledge of plumbing tools and equipment
Work Conditions
  • Field work in residential settings
  • At times it may be necessary to work outside of the regular work day in order to complete their duties.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
  • Experience in a residential setting an asset.
  • Valid driver’s license

Pay: $19.00-$25.00 per hour
