The Niagara Catholic District School Board invites applications for the position of Facilities Services - Plumber. Under the direction of the Manager of Facilities Services, our Plumbers will work collaboratively with our Facilities Services and Maintenance department.

What You Can Expect

• Maintenance of all systems related to plumbing system, fixtures and components, e.g. hot water heating, cooling, and domestic water systems.
• Installation of new equipment and alterations to existing equipment and systems.
• Locate and mark positions for connections and fixtures.
• Repair and maintain water treatment equipment, piping, and controls.
• Install, repair, and maintain sinks and toilets.
• Test pipe systems and fixtures for leaks.
• Perform scheduled maintenance service on plumbing systems and fixtures.
• Complete and submit regulation paperwork, e.g. backflow testing.
• Perform other assigned duties that are within the area of knowledge and skills as required
• Respond to and complete all assigned work orders in a timely fashion, using computerized work order management system (Ebase)
• Review building plans and specifications to determine the layout for plumbing and related materials.
• Maintain all building codes, installation requirements and relevant legislation.
• Ensure all installations, repairs and maintenance meet environmental protection requirements.

What You Bring

• Candidate must hold a valid Plumber Certificate 306A for the Province of Ontario
• Demonstrated commitment to safety, quality and best practice
• Must have the ability to read, interpret and revise drawings, specifications, and Plumbing Code material
• Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Must hold a valid Ontario Driver's license. Consideration given to those who possess a Gas Fitter 1 or Gas Fitter 2 Provincial Certification and Cross Connection Control Specialist

This is a full time, permanent and unionized position.

HOURS: 40 hours/week; Monday-Friday; 7:30-4pm

LOCATION: Maintenance Shop - 157 McCormack Drive, Thorold, ON

RATE OF PAY: $29.07-33.55 per hour
