Physician Assistant/ Clinical Assistant - Rehab/Geriatrics - 20052517 - (1930)

Annual Hours: 2080

*Length of term may be adjusted (extended or shortened). In the event that the term is shortened, a minimum notice of two weeks will be provided.

Responsibilities

The Physician Assistant/Clinical Assistant will be required to perform, order, and interpret diagnostic and therapeutic investigations and interventions. Duties may include performing history and physical examinations in a variety of settings such as the Emergency Department and wards, following patients in the pre‑peri‑postoperative ward and/or other clinical settings. Assistants will attend clinical and educational rounds, and handle administrative duties such as documenting all patient encounters in paper or electronic records. Effective communication in English with interdisciplinary team members is essential.

THIS IS NOT A MEDICAL ASSISTANT OR MEDICAL OFFICE ASSISTANT POSITION

Salary will commensurate with experience and qualifications and is accompanied by a benefits package.

Qualifications

• Must be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Manitoba as a Physician Assistant or Clinical Assistant.
• Must be eligible for a Medical Staff Appointment.
• Prior experience preferred.
• Candidates must be a graduate of a Physician Assistant Educational Program acceptable to CPSM.

Clinical Assistants:

• Must be a graduate of an accredited Medical School in Canada or abroad.
• Must have at least one of the following:
  • Clinical Assistant Assessment
  • NAC OSCE
  • LMCC
