Position Overview
Experience
  • Previous experience in pharmacy education and staff training activities as a lecturer, preceptor, mentor, or clinical placement coordinator is an asset.
  • Minimum of two years’ experience as a practicing pharmacist required.
Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)
  • Entry-to-practice academic credential in Pharmacy from an accredited Canadian university program or the approved equivalent if internationally educated as determined by the College of Pharmacists of Manitoba (CPhM).
  • Post-graduate education, training in a relevant field of study, and/or completion of a hospital pharmacy residency program is preferred.
  • Education/training in the field of education, educational psychology, or Adult and Continuing Education, is an asset.
Certification/Licensure/Registration
  • Licensed, or eligibility for licensure, as a pharmacist in the Province of Manitoba.
  • Valid driver’s license.
Qualifications and Skills
  • Working knowledge of pharmacy drug distribution and clinical/drug information services in the provision of patient care.
  • Knowledge of information systems technology and software is preferred.
  • Ability to serve as a role model (mentor) with respect to ethical and professional behavior.
  • Aptitude for communicating professional information both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to plan, organize, and deliver education and staff development events.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to create and maintain effective working relationships with all levels in the organization.
  • Ability to critically review pharmacy and education literature and educational materials.
  • Demonstrated commitment to professional growth.
  • Demonstrated commitment to optimizing the contribution that pharmacy services can make to the care of individual patients and to the healthcare system as a whole.
Physical Requirements
  • Will be required to travel to sites throughout the Winnipeg Regional Health Authority (WRHA) system.
