Overview

A Burnaby based manufacturer with operations across North America is seeking a Payroll Specialist on a 3-months contract basis, with a strong possibility of converting to permanent upon contract completion.

The position will be responsible for processing bi-weekly payroll for US and Canadian employees, managing benefits administration, posting payroll, and reconciling related accounts.

Although both US and Canadian payroll experience is ideal, you may have experience with only one or the other. Experience with ADP Workforce Now and a PCP designation is also desirable.

Interviews will be taking place this week with a start date as soon as possible preferred.

What – the Role

Your role will report to the Controller, and while you will be part of a collaborative and tight-knit finance function, you are someone able to work independently and partner seamlessly with teams across an organization

Key responsibilities

• Process bi-weekly US and Canadian payroll in compliance with labor laws and tax regulations, ensuring accuracy across wage data, benefits, and reporting requirements.
• Administer and reconcile payroll entries, employee benefits, and retirement plans, while maintaining HRIS data integrity and conducting regular audits to ensure compliance.
• Support employees by reviewing timesheets, resolving payroll or benefits inquiries, and providing guidance on policies and procedures.
• Manage payroll calendars, reporting deadlines, and compliance requirements to ensure timely and accurate submissions.

Who – the Candidate

• 3 plus years payroll experience, with US or Canadian payroll experience (US preferred).
• ADP Workforce Now experience will be beneficial.
• PCP payroll designation preferred.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to meet tight deadlines.
• Proactive, solutions-focused approach to problem solving.
• Skilled at planning, organizing, and managing tasks independently.

Where

Located less than 5 minutes’ walk from a SkyTrain station in Burnaby, with 2 days per week in office.

How Much
