Job description

SUMMIT Inspection Services Ltd. is seeking a certified Phased Array Technician to join our team. SUMMIT Inspection Services Ltd. has provided in-service pressure vessel inspections predominately to the Oil and Gas industry across western Canada since 2004, and is seeking skilled, experienced, and team-oriented candidates who value quality and integrity.

SHIFT AND LOCATION
  • This position will be site based (Wood Buffalo Region)
  • Fly in/fly out (Calgary and Edmonton hubs)
  • Camp based, 14 days on/14 days off rotation
  • Expected start date: Spring 2026
TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Setup, calibrate, and operate advanced NDE equipment in an efficient manner under minimal supervision
  • Interpret and evaluate data in accordance with applicable codes/standards, specifications, and procedures
  • Document results in quality detailed reports
  • Complete field sketches as required in accordance with approved procedures
  • Perform conventional SWUT and other NDE methods when required
  • Understand local jurisdiction regulations in conducting job tasks
  • Report equipment maintenance/repair issues in accordance with company procedures for corrective action
  • Responsible to mentor and provide guidance to assistant crew members
  • Communicate with colleagues/clients in a friendly and professional manner when interacting
  • Responsible to adhere to all safety regulations, standards and maintain safe work
  • Responsible to report any unsafe work activities, hazards or concerns
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
  • Minimum 3-5 years practical phased array experience (training/operating)
  • PCN or CSWIP phased array Level 2 certification with CGSB UT-II
  • PCN or CSWIP TOFD Level 2 certification
  • Certified CGSB Level II in other methods (PT, MT) and/or CWB considered an asset
  • IRATA Rope Access certification considered an asset
  • Self-motivated with strong work ethic, positive attitude with an emphasis on safety and quality
  • Strong technical and mechanical skills with the ability to problem solve
  • Excellent report writing skills with attention to detail
  • Proficient in Excel, Word, and Bluebeam/Adobe
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills / Read and write in English
  • Ability to collaborate on assignments
  • Experience working in confined spaces and working from heights
  • Valid driver’s license required
  • Must have the following valid safety certifications prior to employment: H2S Alive, Emergency First Aid, Common Safety Orientation (CSO), Confined Space Entry, and OSSA Fall protection
  • Candidates will be required to pass a pre-access drug and alcohol test prior to site deployment
