Unifin International, a Wabtec Company in London, Ontario, was originally founded in the 1920’s. Who will you be working with?

As a member of the team at Unifin International, you will be working with one senior painter to learn Unifin’s painting processes. You will report to the Production Supervisor and work with 38 experienced team members from various departments.

How will you make a difference?

We are looking for an individual who has the knowledge, skills, and experience to fulfill an important painter role. This vital role will learn and gain experience to become an experienced painter on Unifin’s nonstandard product. This individual is initiative‑taking, willing to listen and learn, take guidance from senior employees, and willing to put in time and effort to be a future leader in the paint department.

What will your typical day look like?
  • Working in a fast‑paced manufacturing paint environment
  • Work collaboratively with 38 team members
  • Ability to understand and execute directions from supervisor to meet production goals and deadlines
  • Working alone on various tasks
  • Masking, painting preparation, ability to paint per paint recommendations
  • Operate overhead cranes safely
  • Be responsible for your own safety, while ensuring you are keeping your team safe as well
  • Ability to wear respirators (no facial hair)
  • Ability to plan your time to efficiently paint product with speed and accuracy
  • Interpret drawings and other written instructions accurately
  • Keep the work area clean, organized, and free of hazards to promote a safe working environment
  • Record production and operational data accurately
  • Ability to work at various body positions to perform paint prep and painting process
  • Detailed oriented

Safety glasses, steel‑toed safety shoes and hearing protection must be worn for the entirety of the shift.

  • Wages: First six months – probation - $29.17 + $2.19 COLA* = $31.36
  • After probation – full rate - $32.41 + $2.19 COLA* = $34.60
  • COLA* - adjusted quarterly
  • Day shift – 40‑hour work week; 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
  • Annual vacation; company‑paid holidays
  • Benefits, effective upon hire, include health care, dental, vision, life insurance, accidental death and dismemberment, disability coverage, Group RRSP/DPSP
  • Safety boot and prescription‑safety‑glasses allowance
  • On‑site parking, on bus route
