Shifts Available and Hours:

Onsite Position
Shift schedules will be determined according to business needs, as follows:

  • Day: 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM
  • Evening: 3:00 PM – 11:00 PM
  • Overnight: 11:00 PM – 7:00 AM
Job Summary:

Reporting to the Packaging Manager, the Packaging Supervisor leads a team of approximately 15 unionized employees. Responsible for planning and scheduling personnel, optimizing processes, ensuring Health & Safety compliance, managing labour relations, and driving continuous improvement.

The ideal candidate has strong leadership and English communication skills, engineering training or equivalent manufacturing experience (aluminum extrusion preferred), proficiency in computer systems (experience with AS400 and AutoCAD is an asset), and over 5 years of industry experience. Flexibility to work all shifts and overtime as required is essential.

Required Education/Experience:
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a unionized heavy manufacturing environment.
Preferred Skills/Qualifications:
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to effectively manage and motivate a team.
  • Excellent communication skills in English (spoken and written), with the ability to interact effectively with team members and management.
  • Proficient in computer systems (experience with AS400 and AutoCAD is an asset).
  • Engineering training or equivalent experience in manufacturing or extrusion (preferred).
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in aluminum extrusion (highly preferred).
  • Willingness to work overtime as required.
  • Flexibility to work all three production shifts listed above, as well as weekends and overtime when required.
Job Responsibilities:
  • Plan, schedule, and oversee packaging personnel to meet production targets and ensure line efficiency.
  • Analyze operational processes and implement improvements to optimize team and departmental performance.
  • Lead labour relations efforts, addressing grievances and resolving employee conflicts in a fair and timely manner.
  • Ensure strict compliance with Health and Safety regulations, maintaining a safe and secure work environment.
  • Monitor packaging equipment performance and coordinate maintenance to ensure safe and efficient operations.
  • Collaborate with management and other supervisors to support continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Supervise, coach, and develop staff, including recruitment, onboarding, training, and performance evaluations.
  • Act as a liaison between Packaging and other departments, ensuring operational alignment and communication.
  • Perform additional duties as required to support department and organizational goals.
