Job Summary:

Unifi, the largest aviation services provider in North America, is seeking to make immediate hires on our Ramp team. As an Airport Ramp Agent, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safe and efficient handling of aircraft on the ground. Your primary responsibilities will include loading and unloading baggage, cargo, and other materials from aircraft, guiding planes to and from gates, and performing various ground support tasks to facilitate the smooth operation of airport activities.

Responsibilities

  • Load and unload baggage, cargo, and mail from aircraft, ensuring proper weight distribution and adherence to safety regulations.
  • Secure and verify the correct loading of cargo and baggage to prevent damage during transportation.
  • Connect and disconnect aircraft tow bars and operate ground support equipment.
  • Guide arriving and departing aircraft to and from gates using hand signals or electronic devices.
  • Operate tow tractors to move aircraft on the ground safely and efficiently.
  • Sort, transport, and deliver checked and carry-on baggage to and from the aircraft and terminal.
  • Ensure accurate routing of baggage and timely delivery to the appropriate destination.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and regulations, including properly using personal protective equipment (PPE) and following established procedures.
  • Report any safety hazards, incidents, or equipment malfunctions promptly.
  • Communicate effectively with flight crews, ground control, and other airport personnel to coordinate aircraft movements and resolve operational issues.
  • Ability to communicate information and instructions verbally and/or via radio equipment.
  • Provide clear and concise radio communication when necessary.
  • Perform routine checks and maintenance on ground support equipment to ensure operational readiness.
  • Assist in the positioning of aircraft stairs, ramps, and other equipment as needed.
  • Agent services the aircraft lavatories by emptying waste, handles the disposal of oil from lavatory trucks, logs and tracks lavatory paperwork.
  • Must be able to walk, climb, bend, kneel, crawl, and stoop frequently and for extended periods.
  • Must be able to work in cramped or high places.
  • Must be able to carry heavy items up and down jetway stairs.
  • Must be able to lift/carry/push/pull and move items of 70 pounds and/or more regularly and repetitively lift weights of 40 to 50 pounds on raised surfaces

working from 20 to 40 hours a week

  • This position is required to work evenings, weekends, holidays and overnight shifts. The schedule will change ever 2-3 months and you will be awarded it based on your seniority date.
  • This position will start out Part-time but you can bid for a full time schedule during the shift bids and note that PT is not eligible for dental benefits and the employee will be required to pay for adding dependents to their health benefits.

Requirements

  • Valid Class 5 Drivers License with driving experience.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen.
  • Ability to pass up to a 10-year background check.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Previous experience in ground operations or a related field is preferred.
