Key responsibilities for this position include:
  • Safe operation of bucket trucks and associated tools
  • Loading and unloading reels on cable trailers and line trucks
  • Outside Plant (OSP) installation of strand, coax, fiber, and equipment, both aerial and underground
  • Proper use of lashing equipment and other telecommunication toolsWorking in confined spaces, heights, and in all weather conditions
  • Ability to read and understand maps and designs
  • Troubleshoot and test equipment when necessary
  • Understand and adhere to company safety policies and procedures
  • Perform other related duties as required
Qualifications
  • 3-10 years related experience working within Telecommunications or Outside Plant Construction or a combination of relevant education and experience is an asset
  • Ability to climb utility poles or have experience with ladders and boom-lifts
  • Working knowledge of construction or telecom documents, drawings, specifications
  • Great attitude and the ability to communicate clearly and collaboratively with clients and colleagues
  • Willingness to work evenings and weekends, on-call occasionally and in all types of weather while adhering to company safety policies and wearing the required PPE required for the task.
  • Ability to operate and maintain company vehicles safely, air brake endorsement may be required
  • Ability to perform physically demanding tasks including but not limited to carrying heavy equipment, ladders, tools, on a regular basis
  • Successful completion of a criminal background check
