Inspired Eyes Creative Eyewear & Optometry is a well-established optical clinic located in the heart of downtown Kelowna, British Columbia. Inspired Eyes specializes in eyewear from innovative, eclectic frame brands and premium, customized Rx lenses, sunglasses and contact lenses - all offered in our comfortable and charming boutique setting. Our optometrists offer extended appointment times to allow for in depth Vision Wellness Assessments, utilizing top of the line ophthalmic equipment to monitor the eye health of our patients. As a team, we love the reward of helping people to see life more clearly and feel beautiful in their choice of eyewear. We have a loyal and engaged clientele. They love us, and we love them. We recently expanded our business into a bigger and better location in an exceptionally beautiful, historic, character building. Since the move, our customer base is growing to fill the space and we find ourselves in need of another Optician or Optometric Assistant to help us deliver the high caliber service and value that our patients deserve

Opportunity

In this role you will perform a variety of tasks including :

  • dispensing glasses
  • pre-testing
  • administering visual field tests
  • contact lens training

Your attention to detail, organizational efficiency and ability to function well in a busy environment will be a huge asset to the team as we often have a crowd of enthusiastic customers needing service. The Optician or Optometric Assistant collaborates with coworkers in order to meet our ultimate goal, which is to create an enjoyable and memorable visioncare experience for our clients. This position is a skilled role requiring past work experience working in either an optical, or in the office of an optometrist or ophthalmologist.

Education and Experience / Qualifications

Certification as a Licensed Optician or as a Canadian Certified Optometric Assistant (CCOA) is preferred.

More than 1 year of work experience in an optometric office or optical store is required.
