Qualifications

  • CSTS-09 and/or CSO certification.

  • Attend required safety meetings.

Company Profile

Primoris Canada is an infrastructure contractor serving major firms in the oil, gas, power, petrochemical, and heavy oil industries and include services covering tailings and hydro-transport pipeline construction and maintenance, storage tank construction and maintenance, industrial facilities multi-discipline construction and maintenance, piping fabrication, and pipeline integrity services.

Summary

The Principal Operator is involved in the extraction or tailings component on site. This work may exist indoors or outdoors and may be physically demanding.

Job Duties
  • Operate and maintain heavy duty construction equipment including wheel loaders, tractor backhoes, and excavators
  • Excavate, backfill, and compact trenches with depths of up to 8 meters
  • Level, load, lift, and haul various types of materials
  • Carry out daily lubrication needs, minor maintenance and inspection of equipment on a daily basis and report deficiencies
  • Attend required safety and tailgate/toolbox meetings
  • May perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • Completion of twelfth (12th) school grade or GED
  • Experience operating heavy duty construction equipment; experience excavating around utilities and Drainage infrastructure is preferred
  • Valid Alberta Class 5 Driver's License and the ability to attain a City driving permit; Class 3 with airbrakes is preferred
  • Thorough knowledge of the equipment used and ability to operate the equipment skillfully
  • Physical strength and agility sufficient to perform the work of this position
  • Considerable knowledge of the methods, practices and rules of the safe operation of the assigned equipment and occupational hazards applicable to the work
  • Good knowledge of the methods and practices used in servicing and maintaining equipment operated
  • CSTS-09 and/or CSO
  • Able to work well in a team environment
  • Must be physically able to lift 50lbs and climb in/under units in the field
  • Organized and self-motivated
  • Pre-employment alcohol and drug testing is a condition of employment
