Job summary

A leading malting company in Alberta is seeking an Operator 2 to work with Operations and Maintenance teams to ensure optimum plant efficiency and produce quality malt in a safe environment. The ideal candidate will possess a high school diploma and relevant experience in manufacturing. Physical tasks will include lifting and moving equipment as necessary. Overview

Rahr Corporation (Rahr) is a family-owned global leader in the production and distribution of barley malt and related brewing supplies in operation since 1847. In support of long-term growth and sustainability, the Operator 2 works in coordination with the Operations and Maintenance teams to maintain optimum plant efficiency. As an active contributor, an Operator 2 works across all teams and production lines to manufacture top quality malt in a safe working environment while balancing quality and productivity.

Minimum Education and Work Requirements
  • High School diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
  • Previous experience in a similar plant and production manufacturing role.
  • Previous malting, brewing, or grain handling experience desired.
Physical Requirements
  • Routinely manually lifts parts, equipment, and other objects exceeding 25 lbs/11 kgs.
  • Occasionally needs to manually lift or move 100 lbs/45 kgs.
  • Often is in contact with dust, heat, cold and chemicals.
  • Regularly required to stand, walk, and be on your feet for most of a shift.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
  • Moderate noise level in the work environment, hearing protection is available.
