We are currently hiring Occupational Therapy / Physiotherapy Assistant (OTA / PTA) in Mississauga and Etobicoke to be part of a dedicated and specialized team that will deliver a highly integrated, one team, community care model for the Mississauga and Etobicoke communities. Part Time and Full Time hours are available. Job Description

  • Deliver prescribed physiotherapy and occupational therapy interventions under the direction of a supervising therapist
  • Assist clients with therapeutic exercises, mobility training, and activities of daily living (ADL) retraining
  • Utilize assistive devices and adaptive equipment to support client independence and safety
  • Monitor and document clients' progress and report changes to the supervising PT / OT
  • Provide education to clients and caregivers on exercises, equipment usage, and strategies for maintaining independence
  • Completes documentation as required
  • Regularly assesses the patient’s surroundings to ensure a safe home environment

Qualifications

  • Certificate or Diploma in the Occupational Therapist Assistant or Physiotherapy Assistant Program from a recognized community college program or school registered with the Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities or equivalent in training and experience
  • Current police check for work with the vulnerable sector
  • Additional languages as asset
  • Valid G2 / G driver’s license, third party insurance coverage must be maintained at $1,000,000.00 and access to a reliable vehicle
