Job description

We are currently seeking applicants for apart-time Nurse Practitionerto work in our Occupational work/ clinic environment with Irving Health Services, at our head office location inSaint John, New Brunswick. Our clinic is open Monday – Friday.

You will be part of a team of health care professionals working with health, safety and wellness team members. Day to day activities will include employee health concerns, Fit for Duty employment assessments, vaccinations, referrals and other preventative services.

Qualifications
  • Master of Nursing Degree, with NP certification
  • Currently registered in the province of New Brunswick as a nurse practitioner; in good standing with the Nurses' Association of New Brunswick
  • 5+ years’ experience preferably in a clinical or ER setting; Familiarity with Occupational Health and experience working in a corporate environment will be assets
  • Current Advanced First Aid/AED and CPR certificates are an asset
  • Able to manage confidential and sensitive issues with tact and discretion in a corporate setting.
  • Ability to prioritize care and multiple functions and tasks while demonstrating critical thinking skills
  • Team player with strong interpersonal skills for communicating with employees of varying roles –front line trades employees to senior leaders and executives as well as team members of other specializations
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Able to work well with minimal supervision and practice independentlyand as a member of the Health Services Team
  • Proficient use of computer software including Microsoft Outlook/ Word/ Excelis preferred
  • Travel is as needed/requested
Responsibilities
  • Assessment and treatment of non-urgent employee health concerns
  • Correspondence with other health care providers if necessary for patient continuity
  • Maintenance of confidential medical records; ensuring continuity of care with health care team
  • Liaison with healthcare professionals, regulatory bodies, Company management and employees
  • Support of disability management team by reviewing case files and providing medical advice
  • Able toundertake initiatives, projects and other services as required
  • Acts as a resource in the development of Company policy, procedures and /or programs
  • Acts as a subject matter expert to provide advice to the Company on health trends/ issues (e.g Communicable disease outbreaks) and actions to take
  • Occasional ‘on call’ availability required
