Nurse Practitioner

Location: 1685 Tech Avenue, Mississauga, Ontario L4W 0A7

Why this role is important

Specialty Health Network (SHN), a growing division of Shoppers Drug Mart, provides health care services across Canada and supports cross‑province care where allowed. You will work as a Nurse Practitioner licensed to practice in Canada, delivering health care advice, education and support to patients, triaging requests, and collaborating with other health care professionals to develop and implement comprehensive care plans.

  • Act as a point of contact for patients via phone, email, text, and videoconference.
  • Refer patients to healthcare facilities and community resources as needed.
  • Engage with physicians, pharmacists, registered nurses and dietitians to deliver a meaningful patient experience.
What you will do
  • Possess strong clinical expertise across a range of health conditions.
  • Provide compassionate, patient-centered care and promote healthy lifestyles.
  • Apply nursing processes with critical thinking, problem solving, and decision making; teach, counsel and advocate for patients.
  • Develop and implement the clinical telemedicine program, liaising with providers and patients and advocating for the program.
  • Ensure compliance with provincial and federal privacy legislation including the Mental Health Act.
What you will need
  • Availability includes days, occasional evenings, possible weekends and on‑call shifts.
  • 2 years direct clinical experience as Nurse Practitioner (preferred).
  • Current unrestricted professional nursing license to practice in the province of work; willingness to gain licensing in other provinces as required.
  • Knowledge of developmental stages, behavioral sciences, pathophysiology, epidemiology, and evidence‑based practice; pharmacology knowledge for prescribing and monitoring treatment responses.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience (preferred).
  • Strong organizational skills for telemedicine; excellent assessment, communication, critical thinking and decision‑making abilities.
  • Understanding of SDN Specialty Health Network policies, legal considerations and professional ethics.
  • Excellent English communication skills; bilingual French/English where needed.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365 and web‑based applications (e.g., Salesforce).
  • Ability to remain objective, be a team player, and adapt to a changing environment.
  • Commitment to quality, client‑centered service delivery.
