Job summary

A community organization in Ottawa is seeking dedicated Street Outreach Workers to provide support and resources to the homeless population. The roles require engaging clients during various shifts from day to late night. Responsibilities include conducting wellness checks, assisting in housing applications, and ensuring safety during outreach activities. Ideal candidates will have a background in social services and previous experience working with vulnerable populations. Qualifications

• Relevant post-secondary education in social services with training in harm reduction, addiction and mental health.
• Two years’ experience in an outreach setting with direct client service.
• Recent driving experience with a valid ‘G’ class driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Participate in street outreach teams ensuring basic needs are met.
• Engage with homeless individuals in various locations.
• Log client contacts and follow up with clients sleeping outdoors.
