We have an excellent relationship with our healthcare colleagues, operating as integrated members of the care teams in the hospital and from our accessible, bright clinic in Dartmouth. We practice primary maternity care according to the Canadian Model of Care and offer both hospital births and home births for low-risk clients who meet criteria. We typically see a caseload of 3–4 clients per month, in homes, the clinic, or at the IWK hospital site. We provide individualized primary maternity care from conception through pregnancy, labour, birth and the six-week postpartum period, and facilitate continuity of access to care beyond the childbearing year as needed through coordination with other care providers.

Our team of six shares clients and call coverage and works collaboratively with the entire Women’s and Newborn Program.
