  • Deliver short‑term, targeted student support within the scope of practice and in alignment with STAR guidelines.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of individualized support plans, including behaviour and wellness plans.
  • Support crisis response and safety planning in collaboration with school leadership and divisional teams.
  • Collaborate with families to support care coordination, communication, and connection to appropriate community services.
  • Provide professional learning and coaching for school staff related to mental health, trauma‑informed practices, and inclusive supports.
  • Contribute to capacity‑building strategies that strengthen school‑wide mental health and well‑being.
  • Maintain appropriate documentation, reporting, and data collection as required by Alberta Education and divisional processes.
  • Work collaboratively within a Catholic school environment, supporting the mission and values of STAR Catholic Schools.
Required Qualifications

Candidates must hold one of the following Alberta‑recognized credentials and be in good standing with the appropriate regulatory body:

  • Registered Psychologist (CAP)
  • Clinical Psychologist
  • Occupational Therapist (with mental health experience)
  • Psychiatric Nurse (RN or RPN with mental health specialization)
  • Registered Social Worker (RSW)
  • Registered or Licensed Counsellor eligible to practice in Alberta

  • Knowledge of mental health conditions, trauma‑informed practice, and inclusive education.
  • Experience with consultation‑based service delivery in multidisciplinary teams.
  • Familiarity with Alberta Education frameworks, ISSP, or school‑based mental health models.
  • Strong collaboration, communication, and relationship‑building skills.
  • Ability to work flexibly across two school sites within the Drayton Valley community.
  • Alignment with and respect for the Catholic faith context of STAR Catholic Schools.
Working Conditions
  • Position is based in Drayton Valley, serving Holy Trinity Academy and St. Anthony School.
  • Schedule and FTE will be determined based on system needs and the successful candidate’s availability.
