A regional health authority in British Columbia seeks a qualified professional with a Master's degree in a health-related field and a minimum of three years of relevant experience, specifically in crisis intervention and assessment. The role requires knowledge of mental health and addiction issues, effective communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively. Ideal candidates will demonstrate initiative and possess a valid BC Driver's License.
Education, Training And Experience
Masters Degree in a health related discipline from an approved post-secondary institution.
Three (3) years recent related experience including two (2) two years' recent related experience in areas requiring frequent crisis intervention and risk assessment, such as policing, crisis counseling, paramedic or other similar work environment; understanding of mental health and alcohol and drug addiction issues; psychiatric and suicide / homicide risk assessments, psychiatric and addictions treatment methodologies, crisis intervention and response techniques and strategies, the change process, and community dynamics;
Significant knowledge of available programs and services, their interrelationships, and their function in delivering services in the community;
Knowledge of applicable legislation, such as the Mental Health Act and the Guardianship Act; or
An equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
Valid BC Driver's License.
