Overview

Interior Health is recruiting for an exciting medical leadership opportunity as the Medical Director for the West Kelowna Urgent & Primary Care Centre.

The Medical Director, West Kelowna Urgent & Primary Care Centre (Urgent/Episodic) is a physician and leader who works to achieve a collaborative working relationship between physicians and administration based on the “One IH” culture and its objectives. While reporting to the Executive Medical Director, Primary and Community Care the Medical Director will work within a collaborative framework to lead the development of professional standards, protocols and policies for medical care.

Please note to effectively fulfill the duties of the role, the Medical Director, West Kelowna Urgent & Primary Care Centre is expected to actively provide clinical services under the West Kelowna Urgent & Primary Care Centre Group Clinical Service Contract for a minimum average of 4 hours per week during the Term of this Contract, in addition to the 3.75 hours per week as the Medical Director.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the development of professional standards, protocols and policies for medical care.
  • Foster a collaborative working relationship between physicians and administration within the One IH culture.
  • Report to the Executive Medical Director, Primary and Community Care and work within a collaborative framework.
