Position Overview:

Reporting to the Manager, Material Planning, Systems & Control, the successful candidate will be part of a project team responsible for actively managing and resolving all material‑related issues for their assigned project, through direct interaction with stores, warehouse, shipping/receiving and purchasing.

What You Will Do:
  • In combination with the project team, review and prioritize all material supply requirements and closely monitor material demands or requirements that may negatively impact an aircraft schedule.
  • Work effectively with internal and external customers on material requirements.
  • Collaborate with different material branches to ensure effective material support/delivery.
  • Act as departmental SME for the project.
  • Liaise with vendors to ensure chemical supply to hangars.
  • Lead and coordinate stock taking across the hangars.
  • Communicate major project activities and requirements with supporting Material teams.
  • Liaise effectively with domestic and international customers & representatives including DND item managers, Canadian Forces base/depot supply personnel, and on‑site CF representatives.
  • Keep department informed on progress and resource (time, people, parts) issues.
  • Communicate material performance figures (e.g., EDD, TAT, etc.) to the project team.
  • Capture and action "Material Lessons Learned" from each project.
  • Carry out investigations to determine root causes for repetitive supply problems and initiate/recommend corrective action.
  • Follow up and report on subcontract activities.
  • Provide advice on interpretation of raw data related to material demand.
  • Convene and attend periodic meetings with appropriate employees, supervisors and management to aid in expediting material availability and support.
  • Read, understand, comply with and suggest improvements for all material operations company procedures and directives.
What You Will Bring:
  • 3–5 years of experience in supply chain or logistics, preferably in the aircraft industry.
  • College diploma in business‑related studies, or equivalent in training and experience.
  • Strong skills in the MS Office Suite of applications and company ERP systems (e.g., JD Edwards, Peoplesoft, etc.).
  • Familiarity with the Canadian Forces Supply System (CFSS/DRMIS) is an asset.
  • Ability to work independently with strong analytical and customer‑service skills.
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • Familiarity with the aerospace supply environment and its major challenges.
  • Familiarity with the ISO 9001:2015 and AS9100 quality environments.
  • Familiarity with the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) is an asset.
  • Must be eligible to meet requirements for the Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP), Secret Level II security clearance through the PSPC–Contract Security Program, and Transport Canada RAIC clearance.
