Overview
GFL Environmental Services Division is seeking a highly-skilled Marketing Manager. This position requires a varied skillset with both business and technical focus, including development and implementation of printed and digital materials such as flyers, brochures, slicks, sales and marketing collateral, informative pieces, news and press management, event planning and customer notification. This role will work closely with the Information Technology Services team regarding SEO, social-SEO, social media, online content management and website content.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Director of Marketing in managing brand integrity to ensure that all brand standards are met by branches across the company.
- Manage all document and collateral creation from concept through development and printing, ensuring documents are print-ready while maintaining brand requirements.
- Create and manage content for graphic designs, videos, content and other communications channels.
- Develop marketing campaigns and materials for service awareness, direct mail, email broadcasts, press releases, social media content, digital content management and other materials related to digital and print-based service offerings.
- Assist in the development and standardization of marketing materials for internal and external use.
- Assist with development of digital marketing.
- Assist in coordinating community events to increase brand presence.
- Conduct and manage research projects addressing business questions related to social media and digital marketing materials.
- Track and report on digital campaigns and web services; measure and report on online information using tools like Google Analytics; adjust tools and reporting to business needs.
- Work closely with IT to maximize web presence and ensure adherence to evolving web rules set by leading SERPs, including coordination of statistical information for websites.

- Maintain a positive attitude and promote the Waste Industries image by focusing on cooperation, employee partnership and positive telephone and email manners.
- Ensure the workspace is neat and orderly and greet visitors appropriately.
- Conform to applicable laws, regulations, ordinances and company policies and directives from supervisors.

Knowledge, Skills and Key Competencies
- 4 year college degree (Information Technology, English, Marketing).
- 2 years business & technical experience.
- Prior experience in internet-based culture and the solid waste industry.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Strong computer skills including reporting software and business intelligence; proficiency with search engines, web browsers, and tools (Adobe Suite: Illustrator, Photoshop; Articulate; Flash; ability to learn new tools quickly). Strong independent learning and training/teaching skills.
- Strong knowledge of search engine algorithms and ranking strategies.
- Ability to communicate complex technical concepts.
- Experience creating wireframes and website/page prototypes.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Access, Word, Excel); excellent PowerPoint skills to turn concepts into presentations.
- Excellent skills with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Premiere Pro).
- Experience with social media (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube, etc.).
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently with all levels of staff, including senior executives.
- Exceptional knowledge of sales, business and marketing processes.
- Strong business reporting, project management and writing skills.
- Experience with media tools and working knowledge of web development tools.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with critical thinkers.
- Ability to work with outside vendors to purchase materials as required.

Physical / Mental Demands
Must possess the ability to stand, walk, sit, use hands and fingers, reach, talk and hear. Visual requirements include close vision, peripheral vision and ability to adjust focus. May be required to work more than 40 hours per week with extra hours handled as a flex schedule or as-needed basis.
Working Conditions
Based at the corporate office but may work wherever most effective for active projects, including visiting vendors, branches and other locations related to brand development and management. Noise level varies with site conditions. Specialty equipment not required in normal conditions but will be provided if a site visit requires it.
