Job Purpose

Develops, implements and maintains methods, operation sequence and processes in the manufacture or fabrication of parts, components, sub-assemblies and final assemblies. Interfaces with design engineering in coordinating the release of new products. Estimates manufacturing cost, determines time standards and makes recommendations for tooling and process requirements of new or existing product lines. Maintains records and reporting systems for coordination of manufacturing operations.

Responsibilities
  • Monitoring and assessing process performance and enhancements through continuous improvement initiatives using “First Time Build” process design execution and reporting.
  • Understanding the latest manufacturing techniques, the Manufacturing Engineer is expected to implement continuous improvement programs and strive for excellence with the use of tools such as SPC and DOE.
  • Works on issues of moderate scope where analysis of situations or data requires a review of a variety of factors.
  • Exercises judgement within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action.
  • Follows standard practices and procedures in analyzing situations or data from which answers can be readily obtained.
  • Normally receives general instructions on routine work, and detailed instructions on new projects or assignments.
  • Has the authority to make responsible decisions comparable to scope of position.
  • Defines requirements, planning, scheduling, monitoring milestones and costs, and works to remove barriers to project success.
  • Has authority and autonomy to deliver on accountabilities.
  • Takes ownership for processes under own control.
  • Performs qualification on new processes being introduced.
  • Implements engineering changes.
  • Defines and sets up product routing and SFDC.
  • Performs time studies.
  • Manages the BOM and allocations.
Education and Experience

Generally requires a University degree in Science or Engineering.

Typically requires a minimum of 2 years’ related experience.
