Overview

The Military Museum Manager provides strategic leadership, operational oversight, and cultural stewardship of The Military Museums in Calgary. They ensure the preservation, interpretation, and promotion of Canadian military history through exhibitions, education, and community engagement. On a daily basis, the manager leads the team, coordinates with military and academic partners, oversees and reports on exhibitions and programs, manages resources, and fosters relationships with the public to uphold the museum’s mission as Western Canada's largest tri-service military heritage institution.

Work environment and conditions

Full-time on-site attendance is required.   • Asset qualifications (if applicable): university degree; experience in program delivery, advising executives, handling non-public property, protocol with senior officials, grant applications.
  • Language: English essential.
  • Competencies: integrity and respect, thinking strategically, teamwork, initiative, leadership, communication.
  • Ability: work independently; run board meetings; manage operating budget.
