We are looking for people who, like us, believe the work we do has a positive impact on their community and that together we can continue supporting our Residents and their families.

Job Description

Grow in your Nursing career and support your community in this leadership role! As the Manager of Resident Care, you lead the Resident Care Team to provide quality care with a focus on individual Residents’ needs, advocating for Residents’ rights, and supporting the HR functions of the Resident Care Team while ensuring compliance with the Fixing Long Term Care Act.

We provide a fulsome orientation to set you up for success and help you thrive in your leadership role. If you were working for us as a Manager of Resident Care, here are some of the things you would have done last week:

  • Led the Resident Care Team following a “Home within a Home” model, ensuring high-quality, Resident-centered care while advocating for Residents’ rights
  • Oversaw compliance with the Fixing Long-Term Care Act, Ministry of Health standards, and other regulatory requirements
  • Worked collaboratively with the Care Coordinator and Scheduler to align staffing patterns with Residents’ needs
  • Supported and practiced Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) initiatives across the home
  • Supported student placements in the home
  • Helped the nursing department set its philosophy, goals, policies, and accountability standards for excellent Resident care
  • Managed the financial nursing budget responsibly and efficiently
  • Recruited, onboarded, and supported new nursing staff, while ensuring performance appraisals and education needs were met
  • Facilitated effective communication and teamwork across departments and with external care partners
  • Acted as the Accreditation Lead, ensuring standards were met and exceeded
  • Provided education and training to staff, identifying learning needs and supporting growth
  • Stepped in as Charge Nurse when required, ensuring seamless care during staffing shortages
  • Led by example as a values-driven, resident-focused leader

Ready to lead, care, and grow in a home where every day matters?

When you apply, if you have your registration in good standing with the CNO, we will try our best to reach out to you within the week (hopefully within a few days). When you’re eligible with us for benefits, you can expect a variety of them:

Benefits
  • Flexibility in shift scheduling to support your home life
  • When eligible, you can enjoy full range of extended Health benefits
  • Pension/RRSP matching
  • Tuition reimbursement
  • And many Company Events like our annual recognition parties, team theme parties, lunches, outings, gift cards, and paid days off

We prioritize promoting from within and support our employees' educational needs because we care for the team we have put together. We come to our workplace each day understanding that we are entering our Residents' Home, and we are there to support them. While we don't take ourselves seriously, we take our jobs seriously and love to have fun with each other and the Residents!
