The Manager Financial Planning and Analysis will play a key role in driving financial performance and supporting strategic decision-making across the organization. This position will be responsible for providing insights, analysis, and recommendations to business partners influencing resource allocation and supporting initiatives that drive profitable growth. The ideal candidate will be highly analytical, detail-oriented, and proactive, with a proven track record of success in a fast-paced dynamic environment.

Responsibilities
  • Strategic Planning & Analysis: support the development and execution of the company’s long-term strategic plan including market analysis, competitive benchmarking, and identification of growth opportunities.
  • Conduct in-depth research and analysis on industry trends and market dynamics to inform long-term strategic decision-making.
  • Develop and maintain complex financial models to evaluate strategic initiatives, assess potential risks and returns, and support resource allocation.
  • Financial Planning, Forecasting & Reporting: develop and manage the annual budget and rolling forecasts, coordinating with various departments to ensure alignment with strategic goals.
  • Identify and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure business performance and drive accountability.
  • Analyze actual results against budget and forecast, providing variance analysis and actionable insights.
  • Prepare and present insightful financial reports to management and investors.
  • Business Partnering: act as a trusted advisor to senior management on a wide range of strategic and financial issues; collaborate with cross-functional teams to evaluate financial impact of strategic initiatives, challenge assumptions, and proactively identify opportunities for cost optimization, growth acceleration, or process improvement; communicate financial results, insights, and recommendations to both financial and non-financial stakeholders.
  • Process Improvement: identify opportunities to streamline and improve financial processes, reporting systems, and data accuracy; leverage technology to automate and enhance financial reporting and analysis; help mentor junior team members and build scalable, repeatable FP&A processes.
  • All other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or a related field
  • 5 years of progressive experience in financial planning and analysis or related roles, ideally in a fast-paced or growth-oriented environment
  • Professional accounting designation or MBA considered an asset
  • Experience in CPG industry; prior experience in management consulting is preferred
  • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities; you don’t just crunch numbers, you ask what they mean and why they matter
  • Exceptional attention to detail coupled with the ability to see the big picture
  • Strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to translate complex financial data into clear, actionable insights for non-financial stakeholders
  • Proficiency in ERP systems and financial planning software

Hybrid Work

At Open Farm we believe in collaboration, meaningful connections, and enjoying our work together, furry friends included. We’ve adopted a structured hybrid approach that allows you the benefit of a reduced commute while still building strong workplace relationships. Currently all employees are expected to be in the office two days per week at minimum, with Tuesday and Thursday as our anchor. Additionally, each month our Leadership team dedicates three consecutive days onsite to foster alignment and connection across the team. During this time we expect everyone to join in person. Please note: our hybrid approach may evolve over time as we adapt to the needs of our team and business.
