Purpose

The Manager, CDO Business Operations contributes to the overall success of the Canadian and International Chief Data Office (CDO) and supports the Director and Sr. Manager, CB Data Governance & Operations by providing strategic oversight, support and leadership for all Canadian & International Chief Data Offices (CDOs) operations, communications, reporting and transit activities. These activities ensure specific individual & departmental communications including newsletters, updates, websites and financials are executed in support of the Bank’s Data Strategy. We are seeking a motivated and engaging self-starter to work with the Canadian Banking Governance Team to develop, facilitate, and manage all communications, reporting and transit management for all Canadian & International CDOs.

Accountabilities
  • Works with CDO Data Management Execution Leads to support business and technology partners with Data Management strategies
  • Support CDO Leads & Data Stewards to ensure successful application of Data policies, standards & procedures for prioritized use cases
  • Assists with creation, implementation & maintenance of documentation including operational guides, user guides and supporting processes; ensure alignment to standards
  • Support with general project management activities including but not limited to planning, coordinating, aligning, and tracking progress/risks and facilitating communication between cross-functional teams to ensure smooth project execution
  • Preparation and presentation of project budgets, expenditures and updates to stakeholders
  • Supports with stakeholder management and reporting for data initiatives including coordination of meetings and development of materials
  • Identifies, recommends, and supports development of improvements to enhance overall operational efficiency and positive impact for the DO team, stakeholders and the bank
  • Champions a data driven & customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and foster broader Bank relationships and DO knowledge
  • Provides support on other priorities as needed
Communication
  • Contributes to the end-to-end communications process (communications strategy, development, and delivery) on behalf of the CDOs for internal and external communications (CIDA & Business Line/Corporate Function stakeholders)
  • Manages and maintains CDO SharePoint through ensuring pages are up to date and with the development of new materials as required
  • Works closely with various teams including EDG, senior management and other key stakeholders to develop, design, write, edit and effectively execute engaging internal and external stakeholders ensuring alignment with CDOs, businesses lines, Global Communications and Enterprise strategy, plans and priorities
  • Manages internal communications (e.g., newsletters, SharePoint, emails, town halls, events, social posts, etc.)
  • Supports VP Team Meetings, virtual calls and other events including drafting agenda, presentation materials and speaking notes, coordinating logistics, and moderating events live to ensure seamless execution
  • Actively shares knowledge and experience to enhance the development of all team members and actively participates and contributes to touch bases and team meetings, encouraging the generation of new ideas and approaches, and recommending process improvements
  • Champions a high-performance environment and contributes to an inclusive work environment
Transit Management
  • Manage financial operations and administration related to Transit 35154 budget managed in Toronto
  • This entails processing and tracking invoices; opening project codes; reconciling actual spend vs plan; and supporting the CIDA Finance team for monthly, quarterly and annual reports
  • Manage the monthly reporting process for Transit resources
  • Support the Senior Manager/Finance lead on the transit process for all CDOs including OP tracking and reporting
  • New member onboarding, resource & FTE tracking, and other operational duties as required
Education/Experience
  • Post-secondary diploma or degree in Business Administration, Communications, Marketing or related discipline
  • 2-5 years working experience in a project management or communications role in a complex, dynamic, knowledge-based environment
  • Experience in leading and/or management complex initiatives cross-functionally or related scenarios
  • Experience in planning and implementing strategic communications programs (internal and external) including seeking, creating and championing creative communications solutions
Skills
  • Ability to balance multiple priorities and work independently
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent knowledge of business-related software such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc. and experience communicating via print, web, visual media to effectively communicate with employees
  • Strong organizational and project management skills, with attention to detail
  • Comfort briefing, supporting, and engaging with senior leaders
  • Proven ability to build and maintain meaningful relationships with colleagues across a range of functions
  • Demonstrated flexibility and willingness to take on tasks outside of core responsibilities
  • Comfort working in a fast-paced and deadline-driven environment, with an ability to remain calm under pressure
  • A demonstrated ability to drive internal and external engagement across a large employee base and amongst a range of stakeholders
