Job summary

A senior living community in Kelowna is seeking a compassionate Maintenance Worker to ensure the safety and maintenance of the facility. Responsibilities include logging checks, executing work orders, and maintaining clear exit areas in winter. Candidates should have relevant training, preferably 2 years of experience, and strong communication skills. The position requires physical ability and knowledge of safety practices. Competitive pay based on qualifications and experience is offered.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years' experience preferred.
  • WHMIS training and Occupational Health and Safety Certifications are assets.

Responsibilities

  • Ensuring that all required checks are executed, promptly logged and documented.
  • Assist in maintaining the building in a safe and operable condition.
  • Executing on work orders, preventative maintenance.
  • Painting of vacant suites and touch ups in common areas.
  • Prioritizing items needing attention and repair.
  • Supporting the fire safety program for the home.
  • Ensuring exit areas are clear of ice and snow.

Position: Maintenance Worker Location: Spring Valley, Kelowna, BC Salary: $23 - $28/hr

Responsibilities
  • Ensuring that all required checks are executed, promptly logged and documented.
  • Assist in maintaining the building in a safe and operable condition.
  • Executing on work orders, preventative maintenance using the Maintenance Care computer program.
  • Painting of vacant suites and touch ups in common areas.
  • Prioritizing items needing attention and repair.
  • Supporting the fire safety program for the home.
  • Ensuring in the winter that sidewalks, patios and all exit areas are clear of ice and snow; shoveling/sanding and salting as required.
Qualifications
  • Relevant training and experience.
  • Commercial painting skills.
  • Minimum 2 years' experience (preferred).
  • Computer skills.
  • Effective verbal and written English communication, organization and interpersonal skills.
  • Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
  • WHMIS training and Occupational Health and Safety Certifications are assets.
