Overview
Maintenance Worker III – Jasper, Alberta Health Services. Location: Jasper, AB. Type: Full-time. Pay: $31.22–$34.02 per hour.
Your Opportunity: As a Maintenance Worker III, you may perform a variety of skilled maintenance and repair work on patient and hospital equipment and complex mechanical systems to ensure safety and efficient operation of the building systems and equipment. You may utilize your maintenance skills and experience in the performance of preventative and demand maintenance within the exterior and interior of the building. Your duties may include troubleshooting and repairing electronic components on patient and hospital equipment; monitoring, troubleshooting and performing repairs on boilers, HVAC, medical air and vacuum systems and pure water systems. In addition, you may be required to coordinate and assign work to other Maintenance Worker staff in order to meet operational requirements.

- Perform preventative and demand maintenance inside and outside the building; troubleshoot and repair electronic components on medical equipment; monitor and repair boilers, HVAC, medical air and vacuum systems, and pure water systems.
Required Qualifications
- Completion of post-secondary education in a related field and/or 1 year specialized/technical training in a related field OR 5th Class Power Engineer Certificate as per ABSA kW rating guidelines or AHS standards where boiler support is necessary.
- Possession of a valid driver’s license.
- Minimum grade 12 or equivalent education.
- Minimum ABSA 5th Class Power Engineer certificate or ability to obtain temporary certification within two months and permanent ABSA certification within twelve months of hire (temporary exemption may apply if training is pursued); related training and certification fees are the employee’s responsibility.
- Demonstrated mechanical aptitude with at least one year of experience in plant operations and maintenance.
- Basic computer skills in a Windows operating environment.
- Ability to work under pressure, troubleshoot, and solve operational problems; strong teamwork and ability to work independently; commitment to client satisfaction.
- On-call coverage requires availability within a 20-minute response time.
Preferred Qualifications
- HVAC-specific training and/or experience with systems such as ventilation, hydronics, boilers, refrigeration, etc.
- Experience with computerized building control systems.
- Ability to read and interpret building drawings and schematics (architectural, mechanical, electrical, controls, structural, civil, etc.).
- Experience in operations and maintenance in a health care-related facility is desirable.
