Qualifications

  • 5+ years of strong planning/scheduling experience in heavy industrial environment.
  • Proficient with scheduling software such as Primavera P6, Microsoft Office, Prometheus, and Maximo.
  • Good understanding of Critical Path analysis and Earn Value Management.

Overview

The Opportunity

JOB DESCRIPTION: Make your mark while you grow your career! Canadian Natural is looking for a Maintenance Scheduler, reporting to the Planning Lead, who will provide support to the Bitumen Production business unit. In this role, you will work collaboratively with all businesses to build and maintain daily and weekly maintenance and TA schedules. You will also track and report schedule performance, and proactively provide planning solutions.

  • Job location: Fort McMurray, Alberta – Horizon Oil Sands Site
  • Shift schedule: 7 x 7, 12-hour shifts
  • Safety sensitive position: Yes
  • Application deadline: September 28, 2025

Note: This is a rotational position into other roles within the maintenance team as required.

Key Accountabilities
  • Develop summary and detailed level schedules using scheduling software such as Maximo, Prometheus and Primavera
  • Validate and ensure that schedule logics, activity durations, resource loading, float values, and critical path are sound and realistic
  • Provide progress and schedule updates on a regular basis and work closely with area BU teams and keep them aware of project progress, look-ahead, schedule critical path and near-critical activities
  • Develop and update planning and schedule processes and procedures
What You Bring To The Role
  • 5+ years of strong planning/scheduling experience in heavy industrial environment
  • Proficient with Primavera P6, Microsoft Office, Prometheus, and Maximo
  • Good understanding of Critical Path analysis and Earn Value Management; strong communication and problem solving skills
  • Journeyman certificate in E/I or Mechanical trades or relevant CET or Engineering Degree
