The Thunder Bay location in Ontario, Canada, is seeking talent to fill the position of Maintenance Planner, Thunder Bay Sawmill. This is a full-time permanent position.

Overview:

Reporting to the Maintenance Superintendent, you will be part of a results-oriented team encouraged to exceed expectations.

Responsibilities:

• Ensure application of the highest safety standards for all maintenance operations
• Provide leadership, technical support, and coaching to trade personnel and peers while developing positive employee relations
• Collaborate with Production and Maintenance personnel to plan, schedule, and supervise maintenance and capital work as we transition from project construction into daily operations
• Utilize Maintenance & Supply Chain Best Practices with the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) for processing work orders, purchase requisitions, weekly schedules, PMs, and updating equipment database
• Perform periodic inspections of equipment and systems to observe operating conditions and needs for repair or adjustment
• Supervise repairs/projects carried out by subcontractors, ensuring quality and adherence to deadlines
• Plan and control expenditures within the department's operating budget
• Verify the availability of parts, materials, and tools required for execution
• Ensure compliance with policies, procedures, and regulations related to health and safety of maintenance staff and contractors

Qualifications:

• Mechanical or Electrical Engineering Technologist, Trades certification, or related industry experience
• 3 to 5 years of relevant experience
• Progression in leadership roles
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work as part of a team, communicate effectively at all levels, and adapt quickly to change
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
• Attention to detail and ability to see the big picture
• Proficiency in MS Office, CMMS, and solid computer skills
• Self-motivated with a focus on Safety & Reliability Excellence
• Knowledge of sawmill and planer mill equipment
