About Us
General Lee Aviation (GLA) and Wetaskiwin Air Services (WAS) are an integrated aviation company in Central Alberta that offer an approved aircraft maintenance organization (AMO), flight training unit (FTU), simulator instruction and third‑party aircraft maintenance services. WAS was established in 1975 and we are proud to have been operating for over 50 years with a strong emphasis on safety, quality workmanship, accountability and a healthy, respectful work environment.
The Role
We are seeking a Director of Maintenance (DOM) to lead our maintenance organization as the Person Responsible for Maintenance (PRM). The DOM will be accountable for how maintenance is executed, documented, planned and delivered across the company and third‑party aircraft. The Director of Maintenance is expected to remain technically engaged, lead from the shop floor, participate in inspections and troubleshooting when required, and maintain credibility with AMEs through direct involvement. Candidates seeking a primarily administrative or compliance‑only position should not apply.

- Project and operational management, including:
- Weekly fleet and maintenance status reports
- Work order review and approval
- Timesheet approval for payroll
- Oversee third‑party maintenance invoicing, ensuring accuracy, traceability and timely billing
- Promote and enforce a safe, professional and positive maintenance culture
