About the Role: Maintenance Assistant

The Maintenance Assistant is responsible for cleaning and maintaining the Optical Lab facility, including offices, production areas, and grounds. You’ll ensure that floors, fixtures, and equipment are kept in excellent condition, while also assisting with minor repairs, snow and ice removal, and restocking supplies. Safety, security, and prompt service are key priorities in this position.

Daily Responsibilities

• Clean floors in offices, restrooms, break rooms, and production areas; change scrubber water regularly.
• Empty trash bins and operate trash/cardboard compactors.
• Wash windows, ceilings, and fixtures; replace light bulbs as needed.
• Perform grounds maintenance, including litter collection, leaf blowing, snow and ice removal, and roof checks.
• Assist with painting, floor repairs, and facility upkeep.
• Monitor and restock cleaning supplies as necessary.
• Provide courteous service to members, employees, and suppliers.
• Support additional tasks such as store inventory, internal/external purchases, and operating the maintenance system.

Requirements / Skills

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Previous janitorial or maintenance experience preferred.
• Mechanical aptitude and manual dexterity required.
