The role of Logistics Sourcing Manager directly supports the company’s mission to develop and deliver clean power plants that make 100% renewable energy a reality for the world. As the Logistics Sourcing Manager for ocean, port handling, trucking, rail, and barge you will be responsible for managing quoting, cost analysis, supplier auditing and evaluations. In addition, you will be the subject matter expert to support the project management team and Nordex customers during the pre-execution stage for all North American projects.
What You’ll Do
- Develop transportation and logistics strategies, leveraging network, demand and market conditions to optimize the transportation costs for North America.
- Manage supplier compliance requirements for North America.
- Conduct rigorous RFQ process including supplier screening, quote analysis, cost analysis, and preparation of sourcing recommendations.
- Maintain the internal quoting cost matrix for all modes of transportation in North America.
- Lead negotiations and establish supplier contracts including final pricing and terms. As well as participate in Turbine Supply Agreement (TSA) negotiations.
- Continually benchmark ocean, port handling, trucking, barge, rail transportation and logistics market.
- Define and own the logistics sourcing communication process within the organization.
- In collaboration with Quality, establish and maintain a highly effective logistics and transportation supplier scorecard program to assure the company’s domestic and international suppliers meet quality, delivery and cost objectives.
- Drive continuous cost and performance improvements by analyzing cost drivers, processes, and specifications for improvement opportunities.
- Lead pre-execution support efforts with internal sales team and customers. This includes routing, site road planning, DOT requirements, ocean, port handling and inland transport risks, routing improvements. In person and virtual meetings with customer decision makers for high profile projects.
- Continuously improve knowledge through benchmarking and active participation in industry groups.
- Support new turbine development, working with suppliers and internal departments to confirm transportation requirements and viability.
- Contribute to building a flexible, world class supply chain to support the most efficient production of wind turbines and erection of wind farms.

What You Have
- BA / BS degree required, or equivalent work experience.
- Master’s Degree a plus.
- Minimum 7-10 years’ experience required in Logistics with at least 5 years quoting and contracting wind transportation.
- Experience managing suppliers of ocean, port handling, trucking, barge, and rail modes of transport.
- Experience in developing should cost models and / or performing detailed cost analysis.
- Strong understanding of the domestic transportation market.
- Related strategic sourcing experience including supplier qualification and development.
- Strong process focusses and data driven decision maker.
- Strong negotiations and contract development skills.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Must be able to work in Canada with no Company sponsorship and have the ability to obtain a US passport.
- Fluency in Spanish / German a plus; English and French proficiency is a requirement.
- Ability to successfully complete all Canadian regulatory laws surrounding pre-employment screening requirements.
- Must meet the weight requirement of 120kg (265 lbs.) or less to safely utilize climbing equipment and climbing gear.
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment physical administered by a medical examiner to ensure ability to safely perform job functions and meet the physical demands of the position
- Driving is an essential function of the job. Must possess a full valid driver’s license and be insurable under our auto insurance policy. This position will be subject to periodic driver’s abstract checks to confirm continued insurability.

The pay for this role is exempt at 138k - 165k CAD with up to a 15% bonus. Individual compensation packages are based on various factors unique to each candidate, including skill set, experience, qualifications, and other job-related reasons.
