A day in the life of a Life Enrichment Assistant:

As a Life Enrichment Assistant, you will bring your vibrant, creative self to work every day, enriching the lives of the residents, through personalized opportunities and experiences. You will take a hands‑on approach in supporting the delivery of engaging and innovative recreation programs.

What will you be doing?
  • Supporting the delivery and facilitation of a variety of programs and events.
  • Creation of daily activity communications.
  • Building connections with residents, families, and team members.
  • Driving the bus to take residents on outings in the community.
  • Supporting completion of administrative tasks.

What you will bring:
  • A degree/diploma in Gerontology, Therapeutic Recreation, Activation, Recreation, Sociology or Psychology preferred.
  • Education and/or experience in geriatric programming in a related setting considered an asset.
  • Knowledge of the dimensions of wellness, along with adaptations and modifications to programming benefitting individuals with cognitive, physical and sensory impairments.
  • Ability to meet the physical demands of the position including lifting, portering, and leading multiple fitness programs throughout the day.
  • Valid driver’s license and/or special class license (or willingness and ability to obtain).
  • Current certificate in standard CPR and First Aid.
  • Current Smart Serve/Serving it Right and Food Handlers/Food Safe Certifications.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communications skills.
  • Team player with the ability to work independently and with minimum supervision.
  • Interest and desire to work with seniors to promote healthy lifestyle choices and independence.
  • Strong computer skills including knowledge of Word, Publisher, Excel and related software.
