We are seeking a motivated Licensed Practical Nurse with a dedication for delivering compassionate patient care to join our team at the Pines. Works within the context of a client and family centered care model and in accordance with the standards, scope and code of ethics as outlined by BC College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM) and vision and values of the Northern Health. Under the direction of the Clinical Supervisor or designate, in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team, the Licensed Practical Nurse applies Nursing Process, performs assessments, plans, provides nursing care, and may provide direction to other staff. The LPN operates in accordance with the expected competencies within the Entry to Practice Competencies, Scope of Practice and Standards of Practice as outlined by BCCNM, as well as within a client and family centered care model and according to organizational policies, procedures, standards and unit specific protocols.

The Pines is a one-level facility with two main resident wings centered around common activity, lounge and dining areas. The Pines provides Recreational Therapy Services on a daily basis. Pastoral and Spiritual Services are provided by local clergy and other spiritual care resources. There is a Volunteer Program in place to accompany Residents on social outings, appointments, and assist with feeding. Hairdressing and barber services are available on site for a fee determined by the service provider. The Pines also provides an on-site integrated community adult day program, operating 3 days per week.
Burns Lake is located in the heart of the Lakes District, an area boasting over 4800 kilometers of lake shoreline. The village has a diverse population of 2,000 residents and serves a surrounding area of approximately 13,000 residents of the Regional District of Bulkley-Nechako. With two of the six local First Nations communities located within municipal boundaries, Burns Lake has a strong sense of culture and incredible local talents to showcase. Housing in Burns Lake is very affordable, including lakefront property! There are two K-7 schools, a K-9, a 8-12 and a 10-12 public school within the Lakes District Area. Additionally, there are two Independent Mennonite schools and one College of New Caledonia campus within the community. It is centrally located between Smithers (1.5 hrs) and Prince George (2.5 hours) for ease of access to airports VIA Rail serves Burns Lake year round and stops right in the centre of Burns Lake's downtown core.
