A healthcare provider in Canada is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse to provide comprehensive nursing care according to established standards. Candidates should have graduated from a recognized practical nursing program, current CPR certification, and experience in relevant clinical areas. This role emphasizes patient safety and collaboration with a multidisciplinary team.
In accordance with the Vision, Purpose, and Values, and strategic direction of the Vancouver Island Health Authority (Island Health), patient and staff safety is a priority and a responsibility shared by everyone; as such, the requirement to continuously improve quality and safety is inherent in all aspects of this position.
Under the direction of the Manager or designate the LPN practices to full scope as per the Standards of Practice outlined by the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM), as well as within a client and family-centered care model approach. Working in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team, the LPN performs assessments, plans, implements and provides personal and nursing care to clients, according to organizational policies, procedures, standards, and unit specific protocols. The scope or extent of the skills that the LPN performs varies according to the predictability of the outcome for a given client population.
Education, Training And Experience
Graduation from a recognized program for Practical Nurses and current full practicing licensure with the BCCNM. Advanced preparation in the clinical specialty of the assigned area as required by the position:
