A regional health authority is looking for a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join their team in Cardston. The LPN will provide patient-centered care, utilizing critical thinking and teamwork skills. Candidates must complete an accredited LPN program and hold certification with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta. This position is part-time with a flexible schedule including days, evenings, and weekends.

As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), you are part of an interprofessional health care team utilizing nursing processes, critical thinking, problem solving and decision making skills. You will be guided by your education, experience, demonstrated skill level and AHS policies and procedures. You will play a key role in providing safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS.
Required Qualifications: Completion of an accredited practical nurse education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
Additional Required Qualifications: Current certification for IV management and BGM. Recent acute medical/surgical nursing experience with strong knowledge base. Successful candidate will be expected to work at full scope of practice. Must have demonstrated organizational and prioritization skills. Works well as a team member. Flexible in adapting to changes in workload and assignment as required. Effective written and verbal communication skills. Experience with Meditech. Participates as a member of the multidisciplinary team.
Preferred Qualifications: Preference will be given to candidates with one or more years of LPN experience.
