Qualifications

Description :

Assist Lawyer, Paralegal, and Office Manager in daily tasks such as booking client appointments, client intake, file creation, and drafting and filing legal documents; Organize and maintain case files, ensuring all documents are accurately filed and easily accessible; Manage project timelines and deadlines, coordinating with team members to ensure timely completion of tasks; Provide administrative support, including filing, organizing, copying, and / or scanning documents; Assist in file reminders for both staff and clients; Answer phones, take messages and forward to appropriate staff; Email communications with clients, including file updates and payment reminders.

Qualifications :

  • Proven experience as a Legal Assistant or in a similar role within a law firm or legal department in Ontario is required; Strong writing skills with the ability to draft clear and concise legal documents; Excellent organizational skills with a keen attention to detail; Experience with Civil Litigation preferred; Experience and / or knowledge of The Provincial Offences Act (POA) and The Highway Traffic Act (HTA) is highly desirable; Knowledge of the commercial motor vehicle industry and CVOR is considered a strong asset; Strong interviewing skills to effectively communicate with clients and gather pertinent information; Ability to perform data entry accurately and efficiently while maintaining confidentiality of sensitive information; A proactive attitude with the ability to work independently as well as part of a team; Bookkeeping experience considered an asset; Must be proficient with Microsoft Office 365; High School Diploma required; Completion of a Post Secondary program from accredited school in Ontario is required; Legal Assistant : 3 years (preferred)
